すず

hello ladys and gents,

4th day in japan today.

きのう
yesterday i woke up at 10 instead of 9. i went with my host mum to try to get a phone or phone card. on the way many good things happend, first we walked past a kingya (shrine) and i thought i might go in. we climbed the steps and rang the suzu (bell, todays title).then the shrines owner appeared, he had gone for a walk and just got back, and insisted on giving me a present.i got two lucky pencils :) maybe there is a kamisama *giggle* after that my host mum and i walked throught the sakura and i took many pictures.each tree only blooms for 3 days a year. then we went to dokomo with my host brother and his girlfriend who works for jal and speaks a little english. i didnt end up getting a phone and a call to dad to ask about what to do ended in a touch of homesickness. dinner was good and mama made me call papa and ask for a souveneir in japanses, he brought home cakes. :)

today i set my alarm and i was up at 9 which is the time to wake up untill school begins when it will be 7. thismorning was slack, but slack isnt the same in aus, i vaccumed my room and did the laundry, i even hung it out. today i went to the school and i got my uniform.i will have to write a speach 2-3 minutes in japanese and one similar or the same in japanese. i will also have to write a short introduction to the teachers. my school uniform is amazingly similar to just about every seifuku i have seen in anime. oh and my sensei also likes evengelion *giggle* i am in the advanced english lovers class so as papa pointed out i will be a big star and a teacher. my host mothers sisters came over in the afternoon, two sisters aswell as 2 young girls and a baby that is half japanese half african. dinner was a chinese dish cooked by mama.i am uploading photos to flickr, but its taking forever even with japanese net speed. damn flickr *pout* the tokyo and in hotel pictures are up, but not yet host family. my username is puffcake. please look. mum can you please please please tell mrbarsley of my blog please and also emi, tell her also.

woke up at 9(sound familiar mum?) then my host mum taught me how to work the washing machine and i finally got to wash my clothes from orientation. after they were done i helped my host mum who insists i call her mama, hang out the washing (envious much mum?) the clothes are hung out on a balcony on the third floor. yes three. after that papa(insists also to be called this) and i went out to get the bike serviced so that he and i can go for bike rides.he also through a little night light for me *giggle* i am such a kid. we passed many gashapons( michelle= you know, everyone else = those $2 toy vending machines you see sometimes) i got a new camera bag that is naruto themed.lunch was takoyaki, octopus balls, i love them *giggle*dinner was at risa`s work, we had many yummy japanese dishes, she also works at a japanese restaurant, but this one is in japan. tell emi i say hello mum, go try the unagi for me and tell her i am trying many japanese foods.oh and my cash card works, but only the nab one, suprise much?dad, the motorola will work but the plans here entail you must stay two years and pay for them so i cannot do that. i am keeping my room tidy and i have got the shower almost worked out.

narita

hello all, after my short blog yesterday i thought i would fill you all in better.
yesterday and today are a blur and i cannot tell when one finished and ended.
flights were good but when helen said"lunch will be in sydney" she did mean on the flight, not that we would be able to have time to chill out and have a nice dinner after the flight. >.<
still i have a tummy ache, i dont know what it is.
i ate some kushi dango(sweet dumplings) and pocky. nummy

kyou...

one of the longest days of my life started as soon as we got off that flight (which got in at 6am narita time by the way) we grabbed lunch then straight to the hotel where we thought we would be given some rest, but instead we are told to put our bags down for the moment and that our tour of japan will start now :(
the day turned out to be amazing even though i had tummy pains.
tokyo is amazing, just so strange and weird and i love it. i took many photos but they will not be put up untill i get to host family probably.
we visited a japanese juniour school where we were greated by many eager japanese students who wanted to hear both our english and japanese.
helen had set us a task or preparing a presentation for these students about australia, i organised by team and took charge making sure that we picked some relavent, ruth and i made sure each state was represented by a speaker who stated theri name, where they were from , and what life was like in that city. i got perth as noone in our group lived there and i had been there.
we played "ice breaking games" which allowed for the japanese students and us to play and enjoy getting to be together. i was in the middle of two really kind japanese girls and we help hands, and even at one point sat on eachothers lap during a trust game.
japanese and exchange students took turns giving reports, some of them well done, some not so,but all funny and amusing:) we made origami and chatted using our second language :)
i met a girl named megumi , the name of my beloved red panda travel companion.
we all got given purple headscalfs with the name of the host school, i am wearing mine now.
kyou no ban
got back to the hotel and i met my room mate who arrived from new zealand today, her name is kwan ki but she likes to be called queenie :) shes really kind and she has a blanky, makes me wish i brought mine. dinner was yummy but not very japanese >.< dessert was vanilla and green tea icecream :) now i will go shower and brush teeths then early bed before another suposedly big day tomorrow. michelle i brought you a present and mum i brought a nice new face washer. my lips are dry, remind me to get cream for them sometime .
ashita
apparently tomorrow we will be going to a big shopping center and there will be much class work.

sorry for no caps japanese keyboard. love you all :) be happy.

Soon-ish

Hello people ^^

A week and a half until i will be leaving for Japan.

Feelings
Helen(AIIU representative) has told me that it will be an emotional roller coaster from now on.So far its turning out to be no less then that. As i battle to convince myself that my Japanese will be satisfactory while dreaming of the cute Japanese school girls, its getting confusing. How should i be feeling?

Yesterday Maree came over to help me pack and get organised and mum helped me pack my bags.Soon we will go to the shops and buy some extra thing

Last week of work this week and so i am enjoying my day off.Michelle says Mondays for me are Sundays :P though next week i get Saturday night off.

News from Japan
I got a letter and some photos from my host family a few weeks ago and Emi (my boss)helped me translate it :) Now i know a little about my host family. I have two host sisters and a host brother. Last Thurday i sent mail back ^^ hope it gets there in time.

I DO get to wear a school uniform ^^ but its going to be takaii :(

Untill next blog which should be in Japan, take care!
